Display Shower; A Bridal Shower Alternative

Bridal showers can be a little dragging to go through especially sitting through the mounds of gifts and watching the bride-to-be open one by one.  For those who want a fun new twist on the traditional bridal shower without the essential torture of making their guest sit through hours of opening presents, try having a display shower.  A display shower essentially is a bridal shower but instead of tediously wrapping your gift, you bring an unwrapped gift with your name attached to it on a note card.   Assign two or three girls to take each persons gift and record who gave what.  Then on a long table, have them open the gifts and put them, essentially, on display.  After lunch has been served and your guest are anxiously awaiting to see who gave you what while looking at the beautiful arrangement of gifts spread out along the table.  You can have fun with this and make it a fun game by having each of the ladies walk around looking at the various displays all the while guessing and writing down who they think gave you what.  At the end have a prize for the person who got the most guesses correct.   If you are considering having a display shower instead of a traditional bridal shower, make sure to clearly specify that you want your guests to bring you unwrapped gifts along with an attached note card with their name on it (it will be removed after your designated helpers record who gave you what) you can say something on the line of  “ This is a display shower, please bring your  unwrapped as we will be using them to create a display.”  When considering having a display bridal shower, before committing, make sure you keep in mind that your gifts will be open and taken out of their original packaging in order for everyone to see.
