How Can a Bridesmaid Help You?

Calligraphy by Andrea

As the wedding date gets closer, you will want your bridesmaids by your side to help you with some important tedious tasks. Being a bridesmaids means more than just walking down the aisle carrying a bouquet. Asking your sister, cousin or friend to be a bridesmaid is something you probably have dreamed about since you were a child. During the months leading up to the big day some tasks will need to get done and who else is there better to ask than your bridesmaids!?

Here are a few ways your bridesmaids can help you:

–         Ask them to help with the wedding invitations. Have them all over to help you stuff, address and stamp the invitations. This is a great way for all of you to bond while accomplishing an important task.

–         They can help you with the centerpieces for the rehearsal dinner. Or, if a florist is doing the flowers, ask them to fill out the escort cards for the dinner.

–         Give them the task of making sure things don’t get left behind at the reception. And ask them to pack up all the wedding gifts!

–         Consider asking them to have your gown cleaned and/or preserved while you’re on your honeymoon—one thing to check off of your to-do list when you get home!

Make sure you have thanked them for all that they have done throughout the wedding.  Being a bridesmaid is fun, but it’s also a lot of work and there may have been times where you went a bit bridezilla on them! Be sure to get each bridesmaid a special gift to show how thankful you are to have them in your wedding.
