Wedding Vendors: Letting them Eat During your Wedding Reception?

The main question brides struggle with when it comes to their  wedding vendors is, the appropriateness of letting them take a break and eat during your wedding reception.  Although you did heir their services for a full 4-6 hours, does that mean that they should be allowed to take a break and eat a meal that consists of food they provided?  It is considered proper etiquette to let your vendors take a quick break and have a meal consistent with the food you are serving.  Usually you should let them eat before you and your guests are served, that way it doesn’t interfere with their respective duties.  Place someone in charge of setting up a little station in the kitchen quarters (away from view of your guests) where your vendors can relax for a few minutes and eat a quick meal, then get right back to their job. Most of the time your caterers will have plenty of extra food as a “just in case” back-up so there is no need to worry about running out of food for you and your guests. However if you opted for a buffet style wedding make sure your vendors take their food from a tray that is not used in the initial buffet line.  Make sure to offer your photographer, DJ, videographer and other vendors that you hired food as well, as it being a good show of common courtesy.
